Heels were the hardest to give up. But let’s be honest, chasing a toddler, cleaning the house, and getting dinner ready in heels is just not an option. Silk scarves, billowy blouses, flowing skirts, and blissful dresses also went by the wayside. Taking your favorite silk scarf to dry cleaning for the fifth time because your baby spit-up on it kind of gets old. Pre-mom me and mom-me probably wouldn’t have seen eye to eye on fashion but the truth of the matter is that fashion has to be functional and practical with a baby and house chores. And believe it or not, one can indeed be a mommy fashionista. But what to do with your pre-mom wardrobe? I struggled with that for a long time and mourned my beautiful Alice and Olivia dresses, my Louboutin heels, and my Ferragamo scarves. But alas, the two have met and I have found a way to selectively incorporate them while accumulating an entirely new AND fashionable mommy wardrobe.
